April 20 2010
Devised a way to lock the tiller. Very elementary but it works. I still need to test it. Hopefully tomorrow.

April 18 2010
With Jaime took the sailboat under the motor all the way to Raccoon straight. Not much wind at all. We came back, unsatisfied not able to sail. But overall it was a nice day to be out on the bay.
March 28, 2010
Jaime, Barbara and me all three took the channel to go in the Bay. It takes close to 30 minutes to get the sailboat out to the open waters. Had a nice day sailing, but when the wind began to pick up we returned back to the marina.
March 21, 2010
With Jaime who had helped me the night of grounding practiced some jibing and tacking inside the marina.
March 14, 2010
Requested my niece to accompany me for a practice. We made a bad turn on our way to the bay and we were grounded. It was midnight before I finally got home.
March 7, 2010
Took the boat out with my 82 year old father.
Hoping he could steer the boat while I would raise the main sail. Too much for him.
We returned back to the slip.

week of Feb 21, 2010
Had to learn about the tides and how they affect the current and how strong they can be that can easily overwhelm my four horsepower engine.
Learned to stir the boat using both the rudder and the handle of the outboard.
Found out at this stage I will not be able to go sailing all by myself. Must have someone to control the boat while I raise the sail.

week of Feb 14 2010
The week of February 14:
Had to cut the lock to the cabin because the combination that was given to me did not work.
Learned how to start the outboard.
Learned how to back up from the dock and went for a ride alone under the power of engine inside the marina, my first.
